Just practicing with my brush tip marker…a very serious looking black moor.

hey did I tell you guys that my brother and I started up our sketch blog Sketchy Company again? I’m Railtracer on there. Expect art (mostly drawings) every week based on a randomly selected theme. My brother’s art is worth looking at too, so feel free to follow!

AH. My second screen print. (The first was really just a test to get the process down.) And I’m still getting a hang of the process, but I do like how these prints came out.
Better pictures to come soon after I trim off the registration marks!

I know I haven’t posted much in the past month, but no worries, I’m still alive. Class work and life kicked my ass for a good few weeks there, but I’m back. Hopefully I can take pictures of the work I’ve been doing, as least WIP shots.
Also, IDK how I feel about screen printing. I think I enjoyed relief and intaglio because the process of making the matrix is kind of 3-d, which is fun for me. But I’m not really feeling the process of preparing the screen, although the actual printing is fun and I think I can get cool results with this process. So we’ll see, maybe I’ll start to like it more as we get into more complicated projects.

So I did some at home printmaking for the first time…here’s my set up.
What tools do you use for woodcuts? I only have 2, a V and U gouge and I’m looking to get a whole set. What brand do you use/recommend? Anything I should stay away from?
I’m having a bit of trouble finding information online. I’m also looking for something in the more affordable range…not too much over 50-60 dollars. Maaaaybe 70.
If anyone has any advice, please let me know! :)
